For your first Christmas your grandma Deb got you a cute little moose to hang from your play mat. At first things got off to a good start, but quickly spiralled into chaos. I guess the moose said something that offended you or looked at you the wrong way, we will never know, but you decided that the moose was not your friend. From that time on you would squeal and karate chop the moose with derision. To you this was serious business, but for your mommy and daddy this was a source of endless entertainment and delight.

Smiles
Today Grant you smiled at me, and you meant it. You went on to go crazy when I wasn't paying attention to you. I set you right next to me on a pillow and proceeded to talk to your mommy. This was unacceptable to you. You kicked and cooed until you got my attention. I would look over and you would smile and coo in glee. This went on for over 10 minutes until you noticed a shadow on the wall and this was totally enthralling to you. I will never forget the first ten minutes of your conscious time.

Small Talk
Today Grant and daddy had their first conversation. Daddy woke up to Grant's cooing noises usually a precurser to crying for food. Daddy did the customary half awake stumble to pick Grant up. Daddy reached over to pick up the still cooing Grant who had not yet started crying for food- a good sign. Grant got a little hug and daddy held him in front of him. " Grant are you a hungry boy?" to which Grant yelled out in seeming response. Thinking it was just a coincidence Daddy asked him again and sure enough he yelped in glee and smiled. It was pretty cool Daddy and Grant's first conversation, it is one Daddy will surely never forget.
